GREAT COFFEE, WIDE SMILES: Service a priority at Plymouth Scooter’s

Vibrancy returned Tuesday to the northeast corner of the intersection of Ann Arbor and Sheldon roads with the opening of Scooter’s Coffee — a drive-through and walk-up business that prides itself on making people happy.
Constructed on the site of a former gas station that was demolished several years ago, Scooter’s is designed to fuel its customers with drinks (everything from coffee to smoothies), breakfast-focused food and fast, friendly service.
What will people love about Scooter’s?

“To start with, the personality of our team,” said President/Co-Owner (with Bryan Bender) Michael Endres. “We focus on hiring people who are happy and engaging and want to be a part of the community over simply barista skills.
“We teach them them those skills to make our amazing drinks, but we start with the foundation of people first.”
Perfect location
Endres said there is nothing not to love about the Plymouth site.
“The location is perfect,” he said. “We’re on the corner of Ann Arbor Road and Sheldon Road in a great community,” he said. “We’ve attended quite a few local events and heard a lot of positive comments and received a lot of goodwill.
“People are excited to see this corner finally developed and to have a drive-through coffee place they can stop at on their way to school, work or to the highway. We’ve seen a ton of traffic our first day. I couldn’t be happier with this store.”

Endres and Bender also own a Scooter’s franchise in Brighton and are set to open a Livonia location before the end of 2023, Endres said.
“What drew us to this franchise was the quality of the product, obviously, and we fully believe in the company’s core values, which are integrity, love, humility and courage,” Endres said. “These aren’t just values to put on a piece of papers, but ones we live by and focus on daily.”
Sprucing up the intersection
Scooter’s Coffee is a drive-through, walk-up business with a few outdoor tables.
In addition to bringing a dose of energy to the long-barren property, Scooter’s purchased an eye-catching blue-and-white “Welcome to the City of Plymouth” sign to spruce up the corner.
Endres said Scooter’s is committed to partnering with members of the community on fund-raisers and charitable causes.
Scooter’s is open daily 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Check out its menu here.
