A 74-year-old Oakland County man won a $1.5 lottery prize at Zetouna Liquor Fine Wine in Rochester Hills.
An Oakland County man who always said he would win the lottery one day has won a $1.5 million Lotto 47 Double Play prize from the Michigan Lottery!
The lucky 74-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous, matched the six Lotto 47 Double Play numbers drawn – 34-35-41-44-45-47 – in the June 17 drawing to win a $1.5 million prize. He bought the winning ticket at Zetouna Liquor Fine Wine, located at 3793 Rochester Road in
‘You won the lottery!’
“I play Mega Millions, Powerball, and Lotto 47 regularly and have always told my girlfriend that one day I was going to win big,” said the player. “She always checks my tickets for me, so right after she found out I’d won, she called me and said: ‘You really did it! You won the lottery!’ When she told me how much I’d won, I was stunned!”
The lucky player recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim the big prize. He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time lump sum payment of about $1.04 million rather than annuity payments for the full amount. With his winnings, he plans to share with family and invest.
