Born In Detroit, a dynamic and rapidly-growing lifestyle brand, recently announced significant expansions, including the extension of its Detroit storefront lease and the introduction of a unique restaurant concept at Detroit Metro Airport.

Born In Detroit has quickly become a beloved name, celebrated for its distinctive blend of fashion, community spirit, and Detroit pride.

With the brand’s remarkable growth and increasing popularity, Born In Detroit is thrilled to extend the lease for its flagship storefront in Detroit.

This extension underscores the brand’s commitment to its roots and its dedication to serving the local community with innovative and stylish offerings.

The storefront, located at 1275 Woodward (corner of Grand River) in Detroit, is open Tuesdays through Saturdays 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., will now remain open until December 2025.

Expanding offerings

Born In Detroit will continue to include exclusive designs and collections in addition to offering shoppers and visitors a chic lounge experience, created in partnership with Michigan’s top furniture retailer, Gardner White, to host a series of events including live radio broadcasts, podcast tapings, happy hours and private catered events.

In addition to strengthening its presence in the heart of Detroit, Born In Detroit is proud to announce the launch of an exciting new restaurant concept, Born In Detroit Kitchen + Bar inside the McNamara Terminal of Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW).

The new restaurant implementation and opening date will be announced soon. This venture aims to bring a taste of Detroit’s rich culinary heritage to travelers from around the world. The new restaurant will feature a curated menu that showcases the city’s diverse and vibrant food culture, offering travelers an authentic Detroit dining experience.  The space will also feature Born In Detroit retail items and will be co-branded with the quality-focused Great Lakes Coffee Roasting Company.

Born In Detroit was brought to life in 2020 by two sets of brothers Michael and Anthony Tomey and George and Alex Bourkoulas, along with their friend, Michael “Mikey” Shumaker, who were all Born in Detroit. These men wanted to showcase the pride of Detroiters near and far and to establish a brand to champion the city and surrounding communities.
