Burger franchise to hold grand opening near Canton-Westland border

Burger franchise to hold grand opening near Canton-Westland border

Burger One will celebrate a grand opening at its eighth metro-Detroit location near the border of Westland and Canton.

Today will be an unofficial holiday for western Wayne County burger connoisseurs.

Today (Aug. 14) is the day Burger One celebrates the grand opening of its eighth metro-Detroit location at 37400 Ford Road in Westland, just a short walk from the eastern-most border of Canton.

Based on its rapid expansion and overwhelmingly positive online reviews, the eatery has the potential to evolve into a must-try for lovers of gourmet burgers, wraps and palate-pleasing sides like cheese fries and onion rings.

“Burger One is a contemporary and distinctive halal burger joint franchise,” its website asserts. “From a small local business to a multi-location restaurant, Burger One has been long-committed to offering fresh and quality halal food to provide an exceptional experience, the kind of experience that’s ‘the one above all’

‘Adventure of flavors’

“At Burger One, every bite is an adventure of flavors. Thus, the passion for creating gourmet meals always keeps them at the peak when it comes to burgers.”

Burger One is among a growing number of high-quality food chains that — for the sake of convenience — operate inside fueling stations (Burger One, for instance is located inside a Shell station).

“In days gone by, filling stations served their single purpose,” states an introduction on DTIQ.com. “Customers would stop by, fill up the tank, maybe grab a drink or some jerky, and get back on the road. Today, though, 80% of all fuel purchases in the U.S. occur at stations that have convenience stores, and 44% of people who buy gas will enter the store.

“As the food landscape changed, many gas stations began to see an opportunity — serving meals — that kicked off the rise of gas station restaurants and their eventual evolution into convenience store restaurants.”

Another example of a successful gas station-based restaurant that is flourishing is Saroki’s Chicken, which has one location based just two miles west of Burger One on Ford Road.

Among Burger One’s most-popular menu items are its classic cheese burger, spicy Chapo’s burger (“This burger is not for the faint hearted! Turn up the heat with a zesty blend of jalapeños, Monterey Jack cheese, and their fiery Chipotle mayo and ketchup”) and the signature offering, The Burger One, which is stacked high with a thick beef patty that is paired with crisp coleslaw, American cheese, cheese sticks, turkey bacon, onion rings and Burger One sauce.

Social House News stopped by Burger One’s newest location in Westland, but was unsuccessful in its attempt to connect with the owner to secure a few comments regarding its history in the metro-Detroit area.
