Canton’s Rally on the Ridge to celebrate 10th anniversary

On Friday, July 25, area residents are invited to attend the 10th Annual Rally on Ridge for a festive evening of food, fun, and music to benefit the Canton Farmers Market.

This special fundraiser, which is sponsored by DTE, Edward Jones of Cherry Hill Village, Expressions Music Academy, and The Village Dentist, will feature food trucks in and around Preservation Park, located at 500 N. Ridge Road from 4-9 p.m.

In addition to the delicious gourmet menus available for purchase from a variety of food trucks, this event will also feature live music performed by C3 and the Third Generation Band and bounce obstacle course provided by Cosmic Bounce.

Event-goers who plan to stay for the music are encouraged to bring along a lawn chair or picnic blanket for lawn seating.

Food trucks galore

A variety of food trucks are expected to take part in this year’s event, including: Berry Bowld; Blue Kuna Industries, LLC; Brick Oven Boys; Famous Hamburger; Hogz Backyard BBQ; LittleBite BigTaste; Maison Wurst; Mr. Pit Master BBQ; Shawarma Chef; Simply Spanish; Stello’s Burger and Loaded Fries; Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck; and Wing Snob.

In addition to food trucks, a Beer Garden, featuring a curated selection of Michigan beers and hard ciders, will also be available for participants 21 years of age and older.

“Once again the Canton Farmers Market is excited to host our 10th annual Rally on Ridge, which has become one of the most popular summer events in Cherry Hill Village,” said Chelsea Straub, Recreation Coordinator.

‘Pleasant summer evening’

“We’re hoping that individuals take advantage of this great opportunity to enjoy a pleasant summer evening outside with some delicious eats from a fantastic lineup of gourmet food trucks, along with some refreshing beverages, and dynamic live music.”

A portion of the proceeds collected from food vendor sales during this special fundraiser will benefit the Canton Farmers Market, which is currently celebrating its nineteenth season.

With the recent influx in “buy local” initiatives, the Canton Farmers Market is seeing an increase in both the number of participating growers and customers.

Farmers Market location changing later this summer

As such, the market continues to expand its offerings during Market hours, which are held every Sunday, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. now through October 12.

Currently the Canton Farmers Market is being held at the Village Arts Factory, located at 50755 Cherry Hill Road until July 27, when it will transition back to its permanent location at Preservation Park, 500 N. Ridge Road in Canton.

The public is encouraged to attend this special fundraising event, which will be held in and around Preservation Park, as well as on Ridge Road beginning at Roanoke Avenue.

No admission is needed to attend the event. For additional information about this special fundraiser, as well as the Canton Farmers Market, visit www.cantonmi.gov/496.
