Popular cookie company opening franchise in Northville Twp.

Crumbl Cookies is opening its 15th Michigan franchise.

Featuring a roster of goodies that rotates on a weekly basis, the popular cookie company with the purposely-misspelled first name (but baked-to-perfection products) is on the verge of opening its 15th site in southeast Michigan.

Crumbl Cookies, a five-year-old company founded in Logan, Utah, by cousins Jason McGowan and Sawyer Hemsley, is opening a franchise on Haggerty Road Northville Township, just south of Eight Mile Road.

For you fitness buffs, the soon-to-open location is a short walk from the township’s new Powerhouse Gym and next door to the CycleBar.

The new location will join franchises in Livonia and Novi.

What makes Crumbl unique in the cookie industry are its menu of 200-plus offerings, which rotates weekly; and its baking transparency. Customers can watch the cookies being made throughout every stage of the process — from being mixed, balled and baked, to being dressed in real-time.

Overcoming hurdles

Like most successful ventures, Crumbl’s included some early adversity, according to its backstory published on the company’s website.

“After thousands of dollars in wasted dough, recipes that did not live up to their expectations, and cookies that are just plain embarrassing to them today, the two cousins decided to take their ‘perfect cookie quest’ to the people,” the site explained. “They gathered feedback and tested recipes — a practice that is still part of the Crumbl process — until they created the world’s best chocolate chip cookie.”

After opening with just one flavor on its menu, Crumbl has expanded to 200-plus menu items.

The exact opening date of the Northville Township franchise hasn’t been taken out of the oven yet, but SocialHouseNews.com will provide updates as soon as they become available.
