Local North Taphouse & Grill closed; here’s what coming to that site

The Local North Taphouse & Grill opened in June of 2022.

After just 13 months in business, Canton’s Local North Taphouse & Grill has permanently shut down its operations at 44282 Warren Road, just east of Sheldon Road.

Despite solid reviews on social media (average of 3.9/5 on Yelp and 4.6/5 on Menupix), the welcoming, well-decorated space that featured breakfast and dinner buffets, and Friday fish fries, has a new owner and name: The Local Tavern Bar & Grill.

Thorough upgrades to property

Local North Taphouse owner Marvin Jarbo completed thorough upgrades to the property when he converted the former 4 Friends Bar & Grill in early-2022, but his efforts fell short in western Wayne County’s competitive restaurant industry.

The last Facebook post for Local North Taphouse — which was very active promoting its offerings on social media — was July 8.

Several western-Wayne County restaurants are switching to a take-out/fast-casual dining approach given the post-pandemic labor shortages that are creating challenges for traditional operations.

What approach will new owner embrace?

It will be interesting to see what approach The Local Tavern Bar & Grill will embrace.
