Northville’s Living and Learning Enrichment Center unveils camps schedule

Northville’s Living and Learning Enrichment Center’s fun-filled and educational camp schedule commences June 24.

Northville’s Living and Learning Enrichment Center recently announced its lineup of fun and educational summer camps specifically designed for teens and young adults with disabilities.

Living and Learning camps will provide a rich blend of learning, fun, and personal development in a supportive and engaging environment.

Located on the nonprofit organization’s scenic 12-acre property at 801 Griswold St. in Northville, Living and Learning offers a secure and welcoming setting for participants to explore interests, cultivate social and job skills, and build lifelong friendships.

“Each summer, we strive to create an environment that fosters growth, confidence, and independence among our campers,” said Rachelle Vartanian, President and Founder of the Living and Learning Enrichment Center.

“Our camps are more than just a fun summer activity. They are a platform for meaningful experiences that equip our young adults with the skills necessary to navigate the world more successfully.”

Camps start June 24

The 2024 summer camps will run from June 24 through August 15, offering weekly sessions. Participants can choose from two specialized programs: Camp Lotus, priced at $475 per week, focuses on promoting social skills and personal growth; and Camp Willow, priced at $525 per week, focuses on social skills and personal growth but offers additional support to enable campers to participate fully in activities, enhancing their experience and engagement.

Summer camp programming is overseen by a board-certified behavior analyst, ensuring that each activity is impactful, and every camper’s needs are met effectively.

Additionally, each week campers will enjoy themed activities designed to integrate vital life and social skills with
fun:

  • Week 1: Living and Learning’s Got Talent – Campers will showcase their unique skills in a talent show, while also learning valuable social skills.
  • Week 2: Party in the USA – A celebration of the Fourth of July with themed activities and learning about self-advocacy.
  • Week 3: Beach Bash – Focusing on water safety and community interactions, along with beach-themed fun.
