Here’s what makes Ford Rd. golf simulator biz better than most

Garden City’s Off The Tee is equipped with six state-of-the-art golf simulators, great food and opportunities to compete in leagues and tournaments.
Thanks to the freshest, AI-enhanced, high-tech golf simulators on the market, a visit to Garden City’s (29821 Ford Road) just-opened Off The Tee indoor golf venue is the next best thing to teeing off on the 18th hole of Pebble Beach.
Equipped with GOLFZON technology — which includes moving swing and motion plates that allow for 6,800 possible lies — you can experience all of the highs and (unfortunately) lows of a round of golf — right down to hitting off an angled lie.
Off The Tee’s six bays are also enhanced with a set of cameras that allow visitors who download the GOLFZON app to watch instantaneous replays of their swings — or critique their swing by watching the videos at a later time.
‘Best possible experience’
“When myself and the other co-owners decided we were going to do this, we knew we wanted to give our customers the best possible experience,” said Ali Hassan, who co-owns the business with Ali Ajrouche and Gus Hassan.

“The simulators we have are so realistic. For instance, you can hit off uphill or downhill lies, and we have different hitting surfaces at each bay that replicate what it’s like hitting out of rough or a sand trap.”
Off The Tee’s owners were initially planning to open in November, just as Michigan’s weather cooled significantly; however, “a couple of hiccups here and there,” Hassan said, pushed the opening back to March.
Nop-notch amenities
With the GOLFZON moving swing plates and motion plates, you can experience every lie the golf course has to offer in the most realistic way possible. GOLFZON has been making golf simulators with moving floors since 2002. Experience up to 6800 possible lies, 64 positions, and a multi-surface hitting mat to truly play the ball as it lies.
Hassan said he has received nothing but positive feedback since celebrating a soft opening last month.
“People are loving the realism of our technology,” he said. “They love how the floor moves to make stances more real than the other indoor golf simulator businesses in this area.”
Hassan said the Ford Road location is ideal.
Great location
“When we initially considered the idea of opening a golf simulator business, we wanted it to be in a centrally located site so it would be a short drive for a lot of people,” he said.
“Where we’re at, we’re only a couple minutes from Dearborn Heights, Dearborn, Westland and a short drive from Canton,” he said. “I live five minutes from Off The Tee. I drove by this building twice a day, every day, and thought it would be a perfect site for us.”
Off The Tee offers a robust menu of food and beverages — all reasonably priced.
The business is attractive to people of all ages as the bays can be converted into arcade-type games for kids and adults.
Membership plans
Hassan added that memberships are available that give members more bang for their buck.
He noted that once the first site is up and running smoothly, expansion to other metro-Detroit communities is a strong possibility.
