FRESH PRODUCE LOVERS REJOICE! New market planned for Canton
A Cedar Fruits and Vegetables location is coming to the shopping center near the northwest intersection of Warren and Lilley roads.
Western Wayne County’s ultra-competitive fresh-produce business smorgasbord is about to grow more robust once Cedar Fruits & Vegetables opens its doors in the coming months.
Located at 7321 N. Lilley Road in the shopping center situated just northwest of the intersection of Lilley and Warren roads, Cedar Fruits & Vegetables was founded over four decades ago in Dearborn (13110 W. Warren).
When contacted by SocialHouseNews.com Thursday morning, a company spokesperson said a grand-opening date has yet to be cemented, however, a new sign was recently placed above the storefront and interior renovations of the space appear to be in the advanced stages.

“Best fruits in town!” one customer raved. “They delivered to my house when I wasn’t able to pick up groceries … friendliest staff ever.”
Another reviewer said she travels out of her way to patronize the business.
“I drive an hour every week just to get my fruits and vegetables from (Cedar),” she wrote. “Their produce is fresh and clean; maybe a few cents more expensive than others, but the quality is much better and the employees there are very friendly and courteous.”
A Papaya Fruit Market location opened earlier this month at 6463 N. Canton Center Road in Canton. Additional nearby fruit markets include Westborn Market in downtown Plymouth and Joe Randazzo’s Fruit Market in Westland.
Several western Wayne County communities — including Canton, Plymouth and Northville — also host outdoor summer and fall fruit markets. Canton also hosts a trio of off-season indoor markets at its Summit on the Park recreation center.
