Here’s the scoop on new ice cream shop opening soon in Canton
Bruster’s Real Ice Cream is expected to open on the northwest corner of Canton Center and Warren roads in February or March.
From its crispy waffle cones to each of its 150 flavors of homemade, old-fashioned ice cream, everything about Bruster’s Real Ice Cream screams fresh and delicious.
“Everything we sell is made the same day,” said Zein Bakri, who is opening a Bruster’s in Canton along with his uncle, Khalil Moussa. “Our ice cream doesn’t sit around in a freezer for weeks — it comes from our own dairy every morning.
“The freshness comes out in the flavor. We can’t wait to serve the Canton community and surrounding communities once we open.”
Opening right around the corner
Bakri said the estimated opening date is in February or March, depending on how smooth construction and permitting goes.

Bruster’s will be located on the northwest corner of Canton Center and Warren roads.
“Before we decided to open a location in Canton, we did our research and learned that Canton is a community-driven township that is populated by hard-working people who deserve a great dessert after a hard day of work,” Bakri said.
Bakri said Bruster’s offer 150 flavors that are available on a rotating basis.
Long, strong tradition
Moussa owns a Bruster’s location in Riverview. There is also a location in Troy.
Bruster’s was founded in 1989, according to its website. The founder, Bruce Reed, was inspired by a desire to “provide the community with fresh homemade ice cream. And since then, our commitment to deliver premium, small batch ice cream hasn’t changed a bit.”
In addition to ice cream, Bruster’s offers fresh customized sundaes, candy-filled blasts, freezes, milkshakes, cakes and pies.
