Emagine Theatres to host women’s monthly movie meetup
Emagine Entertainment is inviting movie lovers to experience the magic of cinema together with the launch of REEL Social Club, a brand-new monthly movie meetup created in partnership with Detroit-based Club Cinephilia.
The first-ever event will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2026 at Emagine Rochester Hills, marking the beginning of an ongoing series designed to bring women together through unforgettable film experiences.
REEL Social Club combines exclusive screenings, themed beverages, conversation and community into a curated evening built around a shared love for cinema. The inaugural event will feature a screening of Spa Weekend, with tickets including admission, a small popcorn, a themed cocktail or mocktail, and a surprise gift.
A place to come together and laugh, cry
“Movie theatres have always been places where people come together to laugh, cry, and experience stories as a community,” stated Ally Smith, VP of Marketing at Emagine Entertainment.
“REEL Social Club builds on that tradition by creating a recurring event where women can connect, meet new friends, and celebrate film in a fun welcoming environment.”
Club Cinephilia has built a passionate following throughout Metro Detroit by creating women-centered film experiences that encourage conversation and community.
REEL Social Club expanding reach
Through the new partnership with Emagine, the organization is expanding its reach while bringing its signature programming into one of the region’s premier movie-going destinations.
“Club Cinephilia was founded on the belief that movies are better when they’re shared,” stated Crystal Gonzalez-Pineda, Founder of Club Cinephilia. “Partnering with Emagine allows us to welcome even more women into our community while creating memorable experiences that go beyond the screen.”
Following its debut, REEL Social Club will take place on the first Wednesday following the opening of each featured film, giving movie lovers a consistent opportunity each month to gather for a shared cinematic experience.
Each event will begin with doors opening at 6:30 p.m., followed by the featured film at 7 p.m. After the credits roll, guests are invited to stay for a 20–25-minute post-film discussion lead by Club Cinephilia, creating an engaging forum to share perspectives, explore themes, and connect with fellow moviegoers.
