Hartland blanks Northville in KLAA championship soccer match
Hartland’s Eva Larson and Northville’s Taylor Morrison battle for possession.
Two red-hot Michigan high school girls soccer juggernauts — Hartland and Northville — met Thursday night to decide the Kensington Lakes Activities Association’s 2026 post-season champion.
The Eagles entered the match having blanked their six previous opponents, while the Mustangs had outscored their last nine foes by a whopping 36-3.
Just 94 seconds into the much-anticipated clash, Hartland’s Isabelle Armstrong broke free down the left sideline and ripped a kick past Mustang freshman keeper Iliana Tsourpas to give the visiting Eagles the only goal they would need in their 3-0 shutout victory.

The L’Esperance sisters thrived
Hartland’s Claire L’Esperance doubled her team’s lead to 2-0 12:50 before halftime and Elise L’Esperance tacked on a third goal moments later.
The victory improved Hartland’s record to 13-3-1 while Northville slipped to 15-1-1. The two teams played to a 1-1 draw earlier in the season.
Hartland sophomore keeper Haley DePestel’s clean sheet remained intact thanks to a pair of diving saves in the first half.
Summer Larson, Lauren Yaquinto and Julia Reddy brought some offensive heat for the Mustangs, but they couldn’t solve DePestel and the Eagles’ swarming defense.
