Canton’s 11th annual Rally on Ridge coming later this month
A scene from a recent Rally on Ridge fundraiser.
On Friday, July 24, area residents are invited to attend the 11th Annual Rally on Ridge for a festive evening of food, fun, and music to benefit the Canton Farmers Market.
This special fundraiser, which is sponsored by Edward Jones of Cherry Hill Village, The Goddard School, Michigan Army National Guard, and The Village Dentist, will feature food trucks in Preservation Park, located at 500 N. Ridge Road, from 4-9 p.m.
In addition to the delicious gourmet menus available for purchase from a variety of food trucks, this event will also feature live music performed by the Dan Raferty Band.
Get comfy for musical entertainment
Event-goers who plan to stay for the music are encouraged to bring along a lawn chair or picnic blanket for lawn seating.
A variety of food trucks are expected to take part in this year’s event, including: Auntie Anne’s; Berry BOWL’D, El Jefe Tacos & More; Hogz Backyard BBQ; Impasto Detroit; KG’s African American Grill; Little Bite Big Taste; Meltdown Creamery; Mr. Pitt Master Barbeque; Shawarma Chef Food Truck; Smitten Beverage Company; Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck; and Wing Snob.
Beer Garden sprouting up
In addition to food trucks, a Beer Garden, featuring a curated selection of Michigan beers and hard ciders, will also be available for participants 21 years of age and older.
“The Canton Farmers Market is thrilled to welcome the community back for this annual fundraiser, which has become such a popular event of the summer season,” said Chelsea Straub, Recreation Manager. “We invite everyone to come and enjoy a beautiful summer evening outside, savoring tasty bites from an incredible lineup of gourmet food trucks, paired with refreshing beverages and entertaining live music.”
Unique fundraiser, too
A portion of proceeds from food vendors’ sales during this special fundraiser will benefit the Canton Farmers Market, which is currently celebrating its twentieth season.
With the recent influx in “buy local” initiatives, the Canton Farmers Market is seeing an increase in both the number of participating growers and customers. As such, the market continues to expand its offerings during Market hours, which are held most Sundays, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., now through Oct. 11 in Preservation Park.
The public is encouraged to attend this special event, with no admission required. For additional information about this special fundraiser, as well as the Canton Farmers Market, click here.
