During his four-year playing career at Canton High School, Jordan Nobles lost just one game to a Plymouth-Canton Educational Park opponent.
Nobles’ prolific winning percentage against his “Park” neighbors has only risen since taking over the head-coaching reins of the Cobras.
On Tuesday, Jan. 6, Canton broke open a close game through two quarters against Plymouth by earning its fourth consecutive victory, 60-49, over the visiting Wildcats. The Cobras upended Salem, 60-43, on Dec. 18.

The Cobras, who have won their past four games by an average of 23 points, were paced by a balanced scoring ledger that was topped by Jaylen Tramble and Ian Wilson, who both netted 14 points.
Cobras are ultra-balanced
Canton guards LJ Jelks and Noah Tarquinto both scored 10 points for the winners.

The most emphatic basket of the night was Wilson’s first-quarter dunk that sent a wave of positive vibes through the Cobras’ student cheering section.
Among Plymouth senior Zerry Rue’s team-leading 25 points was a thunderous dunk out of a half-court set.
If there was a definitive dagger for Canton it was Tarquinto’s long three-point basket that preceded his fast-break layup, extending his team’s lead to 54-40 late in the fourth quarter.
Tight game for a while
The game was tied as late as the 4:49 mark of the second quarter when Plymouth’s Preston Sholler converted a contested layup.
Kenny Holdridge contributed a solid scoring night for the Wildcats, tallying nine points. Sholler and Noah Bravo both had five.
Canton was never really threatened after building a 44-34 lead after three quarters.
Logjam at top of KLAA West
The red-hot Cobras are now 6-2 overall and 2-0 in the KLAA West Division. Canton is tied atop the division with Brighton and Hartland. Plymouth slipped to 1-1 in the West and 3-6 overall.
Rue was the only Wildcat who visited the free-throw line, knocking down 7 of 11 freebies.
The Cobras were a lukewarm 11-for-20 from the charity stripe.
