Garden City School Board member earns prestigious honor

Garden City School Board member Lynette Childress (second from left) recently was honored with the prestigious Michigan Association of School Boards President’s Award. She was just one of 10 school board members honored in the state this year.
Lynette Childress’s unwavering dedication to making Garden City a great place for students to reach their potential was rewarded recently.
Childress, who has served the Garden City School Board for 14 years, was honored with the prestigious Michigan Association of School Boards President’s Award — a recognition that was given to just 10 school board members across Michigan this year.
Impressive credentials
Always striving to learn more about educational leadership, Childress has reached Level 7 of the MASB Professional Development Ladder.

She has completed 29 Level 200 and 300 MASB classes and accumulated 1,383 education credits.
