 Wayne State, Born IN Detroit collaborate for upcoming baseball camp

The Wayne State University baseball program has announced that registration is now open for all four sessions of the Born IN Detroit™ Baseball Camp on Saturday, January 31 and Saturday, February 7.

All sessions will take place on the Wayne State University athletics campus at Harwell Field and the Doris J. & Donald L. Duchene, Sr. Athletic Facility located at 5301 John C. Lodge Fwy. in Detroit.

The cost for each session is $75, and registration is now open at www.WayneStateBaseballCamps.com.

Heres the schedule …

The Born IN Detroit™ Baseball Camp schedule is as follows:

January 31, 2026 – Pitching
The pitching camp will be focused on positional development.

Camp participants will have the opportunity to collaborate with current Wayne State University baseball student-athletes and members of the coaching staff and will receive a Born IN Detroit™ t-shirt.  Content will include bullpens, arm care, classroom instruction, strength and conditioning education, and drills to help participants prepare for a successful 2026 on the mound.

Session one (ages 8-13) 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

Session two (ages 14-18) 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.

February 7, 2026 – Hitting and Offensive Development
Each camp session will include detailed hitting instruction, classroom education, strength/speed/flexibility education, mental aspects of hitting, and base running.  Camp participants can anticipate a high volume of repetitions in a fun and energetic atmosphere, and all will receive a Born IN Detroit™ t-shirt.  Participants will have the opportunity to interact with current Wayne State University baseball student-athletes and coaching staff.

Session one (ages 8-13) 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

Session two (ages 14-18) 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.

Impactful baseball experiences

Anthony Tomey, Co-Owner of Born IN Detroit™ and CEO of The Tomey Group, is a former Detroit Tiger and collegiate baseball player who understands the value of developing baseball skills in young athletes through programs like the Born IN Detroit™ Baseball Camp.
