Northville girls lacrosse team to host LAX OUT CANCER match

The Northville girls lacrosse team will be hosting a Pink Out game to benefit the Tawny K. Dahring Foundation.

What do you get when you mix pink, orange and black?

A high school lacrosse match that will be played for a great cause.

On May 13 at 7 p.m. at the 8 Mile Stadium in Northville, the Mustangs will host Troy in a LAX OUT CANCER match.

Proceeds go toward cancer comfort and research

Proceeds from game-related fundraisers will be used to raise money for cancer comfort care and research through the Tawny K. Dahring Foundation.

Dahring passed away from the effects of breast cancer in 2005. The foundation named for the former Northville resident was started not long after Tawny’s death.

Players from both teams will wear custom LAX OUT CANCER shirts during warm-ups to honor someone they love.

Goal: Fill up stands with pink

There is also pink merchandise available for the general public. To check the merchandise, click here. LAX OUT CANCER T-shirts cost $20 while the price of sweatshirts is $35.

Purchasers of merchandise are asked to fill out the form on the above-listed website and Venmo the money to @theTKDfoundation (or give the money to one of the Dahring sisters)

If you are interested in ordering shirts and/or sweatshirts with the name of someone you would like to honor, you are encouraged to order by Thursday, May 8.

Heart-felt match for Dahrings

The fund-raiser hits close to home for the Northville lacrosse team, which is coached by Tawny Dahring’s daughter, Kayley.

Two of Kayley’s sisters — Karissa and Kiana — play for the Mustangs.
