How a future college golfer is helping Plymouth win games

Annie Flavin banks in two of her 16 points Tuesday night.
One of the premier high school golfers in Michigan displayed her short and long game on the basketball court Tuesday night in the Plymouth High School gymnasium.
Plymouth junior Annie Flavin, who tied for 26th place in the 2024 individual state finals last fall, netted 16 points to help lead the Wildcats to a never-in-doubt 48-33 victory over Canton.

In addition to hitting three bunnies in the paint, Flavin chipped in with a long corner three in the third quarter — and drained five of her seven free throws.

Flavin was fabulous
Flavin earned co-medalist honors in the Plymouth scoring ledger with fellow junior Mackenzie Dicken, whose 16 points included four triples, all of which came in the first half when the winners built a 28-9 advantage.

Plymouth junior Evelyn Stiglish (nine points) and senior Izzy Krause (eight points) also played well as the hosts swept their season series against Canton.
The Wildcats exploded to a 10-0 lead before either team could work up a serious sweat.
Long-range dagger
Flavin’s third-quarter trey expanded her team’s advantage to 31-9 43 seconds into the second half.

The victory improved Plymouth’s record to 12-5 overall and 6-4 in the KLAA West Division. The Wildcats are two games behind division front-runners Northville and Hartland with four division games remaining.
Canton was led by spectacular sophomore McKinsey Berlin’s 12 points. Senior Essence Jelks played well, too, for the Cobras, netting seven points.
