Here are vital services offered by Canton’s new Blossom Children’s Center

Canton’s recently-opened Blossom Children’s Center (39453 Ford Road) boasts a vision and mission that is easy to embrace.

A six-year-old business that also has locations in Brighton and Novi, Blossom proudly bills itself as an early-intervention clinic that employs a team of experts to work collaboratively with families of neuro-diverse and other special-needs children to offer much-needed support as they grow.

Blossom is expanding during an era when autism is much more prevalent than 20 years ago.

Approximately 6.7 in 1,000 children were diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in 2000; that number had risen to 27.6 in 1,000 children by 2020, according to statista.com.

Collaboration is key

If those statistics are accurate, currently 1 in 36 children in the United States are diagnosed with ASD compared to 1 in 150 children 20 years ago.

“The Blossom Method consists of bringing together specialized board-certified behavior analysts, speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists collaboratively with parents and guardians to provide the best individualized treatment for your child and family,” the business’s website states.

“We use a comprehensive approach rooted in behavioral and developmental techniques completed in a child-led, play-based learning environment that promotes optimal growth and learning for your child.”

The center features classrooms that simulate school-like settings, a gym, community rooms (including-restaurant, hair salon, doctors office, etc.), a sensory break room, and much more to help guide children’s developmental journey.

Programs for kids as young as 18 months

Blossom includes an early-intervention clinic provides therapy for children ages 18 months to 7 years old.

Blossom’ Novi and Brighton centers have earned a multitude of positive reviews.

“I can’t say enough great things about Blossom in Novi,” one parent emphasized. “We are super lucky to have found such a supportive and caring team that meets our son where he is at.

“They do a great job incorporating his interests and making learning fun. Our BCBA goes above and beyond checking in on weekends and after big events and his team was eager to attend his IEP.

“As a parent, I am constantly validated and motivated. It’s nice to have a team that just really cares about our son’s progress as much as we do. They are so optimistic and energetic. The facility is also beautiful and clean.”
