Gubing’s big night leads Northville to resounding win over Plymouth
Northville sophomore Karissa Dahring slices through the Plymouth defense before scoring one of her four goals.
On most nights, it takes a village of lacrosse defenders to contain Northville’s Addison Gubing.
On Monday in a KLAA cross-over match, Gubing defied layers of Wildcat defenders to tally eight goals in the Mustangs’ 19-6 victory.
Northville improved to 8-9 overall following Tuesday night’s 22-19 victory over Troy.

The Mustangs scored on their first four shots Monday night. Gubing scored two of the four goals while Ava Crozier and Karissa Dahring tallied the other two.
Momentum swings
Plymouth junior Jaclyn Schlanser netted the Wildcats’ first goal with 8:32 left in the opening quarter, cutting her team’s deficit to 4-1.

However, the hosts regained their momentum with back-to-back goals by Kathryn Drzewicki and Fallon Stover 23 seconds apart to grab a commanding 6-1 advantage.
Gubing closed the first quarter like she started it, scoring two goals in the final 62 seconds to extend Northville’s lead to 9-3.
Mustangs own second half
The Mustangs built a 12-5 halftime lead before netting the only three goals of the third quarter to force a running clock throughout the fourth.

Lizzie Burnham starred for Plymouth as she registered a hat-trick. Schlanser found the net twice while Rhiana Savoie also scored for the Wildcats.
Dahring complemented Gubing’s offensive explosion with four goals.
Freshman Morgan Watson was stellar in goal for the Mustangs, re-directing multiple close-range shots.
