Debut of P-CEP girls flag football is a hut-hut HIT!
P-CEP Prowler Evelyn Stiglish turns the corner on a long gain during Sunday’s win over Northville.
In a game that featured several WOW! moments, the P-CEP Prowlers outlasted Northville, 12-6, Sunday afternoon in the MHSAA girls flag football debut for both teams.
As expected, the early going unveiled a mix of nerves, rust and definition of a few rules, but overall the match-up was wildly entertaining, especially in the second half when all 18 points were scored.
One of the most intriguing elements of the first-year Prowlers is that their chemistry was superb even though the roster contains players from all three P-CEP schools.
Great chemistry
At least a few Prowlers were on opposite sidelines participating in spring sports earlier in the week — and teammates on Sunday.

First-half highlights for the Prowlers included an interception by Natalie Jordan, who nearly took the pick to the end zone.
Following a scoreless first half, P-CEP broke the scoring ice three minutes into the second half on a 5-yard touchdown run by Plymouth senior Evelyn Stiglish, who got the Prowlers’ rolling on a first-half drive with a long run.

The Prowlers doubled their lead to 12-0 on a trick-play pass from tight end Mikayla Roberts to Bella Bozinovski, who celebrated her score with an innovative dance move.

Mustangs make it close
Northville cut its deficit in half, 12-6, in the game’s final minute on well-executed pass play from QB Taylor Chrzanowski to Elise Tappy.

After P-CEP took control of the ball following the Mustangs’ TD, quarterback Charlie Lindstrom took a knee twice out of victory formation before the Prowlers and their coaching staff celebrated.
Jordan and Elizabeth Nordstrom, among others, starred for the Prowlers’ defense.
Northville’s Brooke Schabel was Chrzanowski’s favorite receiver.
