P-CEP rivalry soccer match to raise funds for amazing SJ5K non-profit

Long-time soccer rivals Salem and Canton will be squaring off Tuesday night on the East Turf Field for P-CEP bragging rights and to raise money for the SJ5K organization.

An energetic vibe will pulsate through the Plymouth-Canton Educational Park’s East Turf Field tonight (Sept. 1) when Salem hosts Canton in a always-important boys soccer match.

The match will also double as a fundraiser for the SJ5K Foundation, which raises money for local families who are enduring financial hardships to to daunting health crises.

Set to kick off at 7 p.m., the event’s pre-game festivities include the varsity players from both teams walking out during introductions with youth-league soccer players.

Take PKs at P-CEP administrators

Fans will be able to help the SJ5K by purchasing raffle tickets — a $20 ticket purchase will give you an opportunity to participate in a halftime shoot-out featuring P-CEP administrators as goal-keepers.

There will be opportunities to donate directly to the charitable organization and several other fun events planned.

Cobras can clinch Park title

If Canton wins the match, they will be declared Park champions for 2026 and receive the traveling trophy that rotates among the P-CEP team with the best record against its two neighbors. The Cobras defeated Plymouth last week, 1-0.

If Salem wins, they will need to defeat Plymouth later in the season.
