After leading Salem to the school’s first-ever MHSAA Division 1 Final Four appearance last month, Rock senior Nolan Kaminski was awarded the Mr. Hockey award for the state of Michigan by the Michigan High School Hockey Coaches Association.
Kaminski tallied 37 goals and 33 assists in 29 games for the Rocks. He scored a season-high four goals (and added an assist) in Salem’s 7-4 D1 quarterfinal victory over Brighton.

The Rocks’ amazing season ended March 7 when Howell edged them, 5-4, in a state semfinal game.
Kaminski, who served as a captain, played for Victory Honda’s AAA team throughout his first three years of high school before joining Salem for his final year.
