You’ll leave this Canton barber shop lookin’ good, feeling relaxed
Knockouts co-owner Charleen Laundroches is pictured in her Knockouts location’s boxing-theme business.
The potent one-two combination of a great haircut and 30 minutes or so of complete relaxation is available at Knockouts Haircuts & Grooming.
Located at 39725 Ford Road in Canton, Knockouts offers services few other men’s hairstyling businesses offer.
Owned and operated by three members of the Laundroche family (parents Gary and Charleen; and daughter Aleigha), Knockouts provides patrons an opportunity to sip on a complimentary beer or soda (or juice boxes for kids) while watching their personal high-definition TV — set to any channel the customer desires.
First in Michigan
The franchise is the brainchild of founders Tom and Karen Friday who opened their first location in Texas in the 1980s. Tom Friday dabbled in boxing while in high school, thus the name.

The Laundroches’ Knockouts franchises in Canton and Hartland are the first in Michigan.
“When we were looking to open a Knockouts franchise in southeast Michigan, we loved this location because it’s on Ford Road and it’s a short drive from Home Depot, which is behind us, and Sam’s Club and Walmart, which are right across the street,” Charleen Laundroche explained. “There’s a lot of traffic in this area.”
The Laundroches have hustled a great deal to market their business, which opened in December of 2024. Charleen even went door-to-door to distribute free haircut flyers in surrounding subdivisions.
Heavyweight service won’t disappoint
The business’s packages are cleverly named after boxing terms. For instance, the popular Heavyweight service includes two shampoos — one before the cut, one after — a five-minute hot face towel, scalp massage and neck massage.
For customers in a hurry, Knockouts’ Lightweight plan is perfect as it consists of a vigorous shampoo and a premier haircut.

Catering specifically for men (although women who need a fade or similar cut are more than welcome), Knockouts offers everything hair-related you can think of: from awesome haircuts, to beard detailing, brow waxing “and everything in between,” its website shares.
“Our Heavyweight package is unique because all of the services it offers are usually offered a la carte by most barbershops,” Laundroche said.
It also offers a kids haircut special called Golden Gloves.
Rare service
“When our customers find out they get a complimentary beverage — either a beer, wine, soda or juice boxes for kids — they love it,” Laundroche said. “It’s a service that’s not found in many barbershops. Visit us and you can get an amazing haircut, drink a beer and watch your favorite show on your own TV.”
Knockouts is open Wednesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
