Westland’s new Brome Modern Eatery earning rave reviews

Westland’s new Brome Modern Eatery is located at 36440 Ford Road.

One week after attending the grand opening celebration of Westland’s Brome Modern Eatery, Deborah Thomas returned — even though she resides in Willis, Michigan, a close-to-30-minute drive from Westland.

“The chicken sandwich I had at the grand opening was the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever eaten, so I had to come back,” she said Monday afternoon as she walked to her car following a fulfilling meal.

“What I love, too, about this place is their up-front honesty. I originally ordered my chicken sandwich without a bun because I have to follow a gluten-free diet. They told me they have gluten-free buns, which only made me love Brome’s even more.”

Expanding franchise

The recently-opened Brome Modern Eatery location at 36440 Ford Road is the business’s third in metro Detroit, with the other two located in Dearborn (5250 Auto Club Dr and 22062 Michigan Ave.).

“In the few weeks we’ve been open, Westland and the surrounding communities have been showing up for us,” said Westland Brome Manager Mo Dabhaa. “We love the location, right on Ford Road and directly across the street from a beautiful park.

“The feedback we’ve received has been great. People love our food and we’ve already had a lot of repeat customers.”

Among Brome’s newest fans is Westland resident Betty Harris, who described the hamburger she consumed Monday afternoon as, “very fresh, very good.”

Salt and pepper fries please the palate

“And I love their salt and pepper fries, although my doctor said I’m not supposed to eat spicy foods,” Harris said, sharing a hearty laugh.

To give you an idea as to Brome’s vast menu, the salt and pepper fries Harris loves are just one of nine selection of potato sides available. Also on the list are cheese fries, cajun fries and chili cheese tots.

While the sides are nice, the heart of Brome’s menu is its hamburgers and chicken sandwiches, which include a super smash burger and crispy chicken mex sandwich.

For you fish lovers, there’s the pub-style friend fish sandwich that is topped by cole slaw and tartar sauce.

Monthly specials feature ‘creative twists’ to menu

Brome Modern Eatery prides itself on its monthly specials — limited-time offerings that bring a “creative twist” to its menu, the Brome website promises.

There are also palate-pleasing desserts, including its Birthday Cake Shake, which can be devoured on any day, not just your birthday.

Brome Modern Eatery’s interior is bright and airy. There is also a spacious patio for outdoor dining.

The restaurant, which has an ample selection of breakfast and lunch options, is open from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
