Wayne County man wins $2 million on scratch-off ticket
A random pick when purchasing a lottery ticket led to a $2 million win for a Wayne County man playing the Michigan Lottery’s Legendary Wild Time instant game.
“Every once in a while, I’ll buy a lottery ticket and the Legendary Wild Time game was just a random pick that day,” said the lucky 53-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous.
“I scratched the ticket right after I bought it and didn’t believe it was real when I saw I’d won $2 million! It wasn’t until I called the Lottery and verified my prize that it started to sink in that this was really happening.”
Here’s where ticket was purchased …
The player bought his winning ticket at Jefferson Fuels Inc., located at 8005 East Jefferson Avenue in Detroit.
He recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim the big prize. He chose to receive his prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $1.3 million rather than annuity payments for the full amount.
With his winnings, he plans to travel and then save the remainder.
Players have won more than $34 million playing Legendary Wild Time, which launched in August 2025.
Each $20 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $20 up to $2 million. More than $61 million in prizes remain, including two $2 million top prizes and eight $10,000 prizes.
