Saturday’s DPD Heart Diggity Dog 5K will benefit great cause
Saturday’s Second Annual DPD Heart Diggity Dog 5K, organized in collaboration from the Detroit Police Department and Detroit Medical Center’s Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan, aims to promote health, exercise and community spirit.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Detroit Public Safety Foundation.
For the $40 registration fee, participants can run with their furry friends or by themselves.
Free swag (for 2-legged and 4-legged participants)
Participant check-in runs Saturday between 8 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. The race steps off at 9 a.m.
The starting line is in Detroit’s Brush Mall, behind the DMC Heart Hospital (311 Mack Ave.), between Beaubien and John R.
All participants will receive a T-shirt and medal, while all participating dogs will receive a bandana for their efforts.
The event is open to all ages, dog breeds and fitness levels.
