Metro-Detroit hockey fans can experience a rare hockey hat-trick Nov. 10 at the USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth.
By attending the third annual “Hockey, Hearts & Heroes” event, you can: 1) hear legendary Red Wings’ vocalist Karen Newman sing the “National Anthem”; 2) watch a team of Red Wings alumni face off against a team of veterans, first-responders and frontline workers; 3) and — last but not least — assist Northville’s Living and Learning Enrichment Center, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to enhance the lives of our participants with disabilities through therapeutic, social, work-based, and community engagement.
Doors will open at the USA Hockey Arena at 12:30 p.m., with the opening puck drop set for 2 p.m.
Serving a vast area of southeast Michigan
The Living and Learning Enrichment Center serves over 74 cities and nine counties in southeast Michigan. All proceeds from the event will go towards programming for LLEC members.

In addition to the entertaining hockey action, attendees can support the LLEC by participating in a silent auction that includes several incredible hockey-related items; a 50/50 drawing; Chuck-A-Duck and several other can’t-miss activities.
Tickets for the event (which can be purchased by clicking here) range from $25 for adults; and $15 for kids between the ages of 6 and 11. Kids under 5 are free.
Red Wings alumni don’t disappoint
Unforgettable Red Wings alumni who have participated in the first two Hockey, Hearts & Heroes events include Mickey Redmond, Eddie Mio, John Ogrodnick and Jiri Fischer.

The “Heroes” team will include first-responders and front-line workers from metro-Detroit police and fire departments — and U.S. Military veterans.
The game promises to be entertaining — and it’s all for a great cause.
