RAMEN-FUELED REBIRTH: Restaurant coming to long-vacant Canton site

The site of the closed National Coney Island at 45250 Ford Road is on the verge of gaining a new tenant.
Will the third time be the charm for the 4,800-square-foot commercial property located at 45250 Ford Road, just east of Canton Center Road?
The high-exposure location has been a bust for its previous two eatery occupants: Big Boy, which closed at the site in 2018; and National Coney Island, which shuttered its doors for good in 2021 after never recovering from the COVID-19 shut-downs.
Revitalization is in the wind, finally, for the building, which was recently adorned with a colorful sign that reads: COMING SOON! House of Umami Ramen * Sushi * Spirits.
Accompanying the sign are larger-than-life images of a sampling of meals the future tenant will be serving.
Construction of the building was finished in 1976 and its current monthly lease is $7,500, according to its Realtor’s website.
Good news for closed Coney Islands
The past few months have been an encouraging stretch for closed local coneys as Ruckus Taco Co. will be opening soon in the site of the former Olympus Coney Island located at 43351 Joy Road in north Canton.

The business’s owners, grand-opening timeline and general background are mysteries after SocialHouseNews.com staff made a series of phone calls and scoured social-media platforms.
Undeterred, we will continue to search for information related to the restaurant and share the news once it’s available.
The good-news big picture for Canton Township and nearby fans of ramen, sushi and spirits is that there is new life being injected into the space, which has been a vacant eyesore for several months.
