On the same night downtown Plymouth’s Ice Festival was firing up, a first-of-its-kind Fun Festival was unfolding inside the Plymouth High School gymnasium.
Organized by Plymouth High teacher Chelsea Kaske, the inaugural Basketball Youth Night kicked into high gear inside the Wildcats’ gym.

Judging by the size of the crowd — and the crowd’s reaction to several entertaining performances — Youth Night was a smash hit.
Tons of fun
The event’s agenda included Lightning competitions for pre-high school-aged boys and girls, performances by the Plymouth-Canton Dance Team, Mini Pandas pom squad, Plymouth and Canton pom teams and much more.
Plymouth-Canton middle school students received free admission to the event, which was attended by hundreds of people.
Fittingly, the two basketball games were split: Plymouth’s girls team defeated Canton in the opener before the Cobras upended the Wildcats in the nightcap.
