Pickleball tourney’s goal: extend lives of pancreatic cancer patients

Sky Foundation, a Michigan-based nonprofit dedicated to funding early detection research for pancreatic cancer, is inviting players of all skill levels to rally for a cause at its annual Pickleball Tournament on Sunday, June 22, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at LifeTime Rochester Hills (200 W. Avon Rd, Rochester Hills).

Organized by LifeTime’s expert staff, the tournament will feature structured scoring and division-based play across three levels: Recreational, Competitive and Advanced.

Players can expect a fun, fast-paced morning of friendly competition and life-changing impact.

Commitment to increasing odds of survival

Pancreatic cancer is the third-leading cause of cancer-related death in the United States, with most cases diagnosed too late for effective treatment; the five-year survival rate is just 13%.

The Sky Foundation is committed to changing that statistic by funding early detection research that gives patients increased odds of survival.

Every registration fee raises critical funds that support Sky Foundation’s mission to drive awareness, research, and progress in the fight against one of the most aggressive cancers.
