ONE LESS HEADACHE: Canton Center re-opens near P-CEP

The stretch of N. Canton Center Road south of Joy Road has re-opened after a month-plus closure due to a reported sinkhole.
Getting to and from the 6,000-student Plymouth-Canton Educational Park campus is difficult enough before and after school when all the roads surrounding the “Park” are functional.
The month-long closure of N. Canton Center Road just east of Canton High School made navigating the area even more painstaking.
As of early this week, the detour signs and barricades have been transported to another Wayne County roadway headache as the pavement that carries vehicles and pedestrians over Willow Creek has been replaced and re-opened.
The short stretch of N. Canton Center turned into a danger zone due to a reported sinkhole that created crumbling of the road that runs over the creek.
The road was closed just days before the 2024-25 school year commenced, creating temporary havoc for students and buses headed to the three-school campus.
