On a frigid winter afternoon, a heart-warming act of kindness unfolded in Oak Park Wednesday.

Louis Frazier, a U.S. Army veteran, received a new roof Wednesday from Schoenherr Roofing, an Owens Corning Platinum Roofing Contractor, as part of the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project.

Through a partnership with Purple Heart Homes, Frazier was selected and approved as the recipient for the roof replacement.

The Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project is a nationwide effort to show gratitude and honor the veterans who served our country and the families who support them.

Since the inception of this program in 2016, more than 750 military members have received new roofs.

Since 2016, Owens Corning has partnered with its Platinum Preferred roofing contractors and charitable partners in the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project.

Through this program, contractors are given the opportunity to volunteer their services to a veteran in need, while Owens Corning donates the roofing materials and is committed to continuing to help those that have sacrificed for our country.

Owens Corning has partnered with Habitat for Humanity to help qualify veterans for the Roof Deployment Project. To find your local Habitat affiliate, visit www.habitat.org.
