National coffee brand close to opening on Plymouth’s Ann Arbor Rd.
This under-construction Biggby Coffee restaurant is set to open in the fall.
Plymouth’s revitalized Ann Arbor Road may soon be known as western Wayne County’s “Java Junction”.
Several months after Scooter’s opened less than a quarter-mile west at the intersection of Sheldon and Ann Arbor roads, Biggby Coffee is just weeks from opening a location at 1307 Ann Arbor Road.
Biggby already operates a location at 400 W. Ann Arbor Road. It is unclear whether the soon-to-open location will replace the existing site.
‘Coming along nicely’
“Our new location at 1307 Ann Arbor Road in Plymouth is coming along nicely. The building is up and it will not be much longer until we are open for business!” Biggby posted on its Facebook page.
In addition to the traditional coffee-shop beverages — tea lattes, energizers drinks and cold-brewed caffeine providers — Biggby offers an assortment of bagels and muffins, among other breakfast-themed items.
Coffee connoisseurs will have ample options as they drive along Ann Arbor Road as a Starbucks restaurant has been proposed — but the initial plan is facing push-back from the Plymouth Township Planning Commission — at the former site of Applied Fitness Science at 40700 Ann Arbor Road (approximately 100 yards east of Haggerty Road).
