JOY TO THE ROCKS! Salem earns pre-Christmas rout of Woodhaven
Landen Stone did a nice job as the Rocks’ primary ball-handler against Woodhaven.
In a Dec. 23 home matinee against Woodhaven, Salem’s basketball team wrapped up a shiny new 64-41 triumph over the out-manned Warriors.
The Rocks, now 6-1, spread the holiday cheer abundantly as 11 players scored.
Senior Nye Turner led the winners with 16 points, at least half on sharp cuts to the rim that made him a frequent target of teammates.
Townsend delivers big game

Connor Townsend had perhaps his most-productive game of the season with 11 points. Mitch Paspal added 11 and Ezekiel Chinyadza contributed seven.
Salem, which pushed the ball up court at a hot-and-ready pace, extended a 30-22 halftime lead to 51-34 during the third quarter.
The victory came at a good time for the Rocks, who suffered their first setback of the season Friday at Canton.
