Indian-fusion pizza franchise on verge of opening in Canton

Michigan’s first Pizza Twist — which bills itself as “America’s favorite Indian pizza delivery, takeaway and dine-in restaurant” — is opening a franchise in Canton in the coming months.

Set to open at 49975 Cherry Hill Road, the fast-growing pizza chain was launched in Sacramento, California by Harpreet Dahyia.

In just two years of operation the business is approaching 100 locations across the United States, Canada and Indonesia. Pizza Twist has flourished in California, which boasts 35 locations.

The franchise specializes in uniquely-flavored pizzas, including vegan, keto, halal, vegetarian and gluten-free offerings.

“Pizza is timeless and flexes no matter the economic state,” Dahyia told RestaurantNews.com. “Our model is flawless and our growth is proving that.”

Wide variety of toppings

The eatery’s menu features 30 pizza toppings and offers everything from cheeseburger pizza to pizza cookies and pizza brownies.

Among the franchise’s Indian-fused flavors are Paneer Tikka and Curry Masala.

“Family and friends that eat together, stay together,” Pizza Twist’s website states. “We craft healthy, tasty pizza that breaks through with distinctive ingredients and techniques from different parts of the world.

“Everything is made fresh and the ingredients are locally sources.”

A Cherry Hill Village first

The franchise is located on the south side of Cherry Hill Road, just east of the Village Theater.

Pizza Twist will be the first pizza-themed eatery to call Cherry Hill Village home, although Maraschinos Pub offers pizza on its menu.

Cherry Hill Village is set for a recently-approved $9.5 million revitalization project that will feature the addition of a Village Square Park, Village Arts Factory Campus and improvements to Preservation Park, which is located just north of Cherry Hill Village.
