HopCat’s partnership with GiftAMeal forged to help combat hunger

HopCat’s partnership with GiftAMeal forged to help combat hunger

The GiftAMeal food donation option offered by HopCat is easy to use.

HopCat, a popular restaurant chain with a location on Haggerty Road near the border of Livonia and Northville, known for its local curated craft beers, widely-recognized comfort food menu, and its community engagement initiatives, recently unveiled its partnership with GiftAMeal, an innovative food donation program dedicated to combatting hunger in local communities.

“Our partnership with HopCat showcases the potential when innovative businesses combine their efforts with social responsibility. Together, we empower HopCat patrons to make a positive impact, one photo at a time,” said Andrew Glantz, Founder & CEO of GiftAMeal.

With GiftAMeal’s convenient technology, HopCat guests scan a QR code and snap a photo of their drink or meal. For each photo taken, HopCat donates a meal to a local food bank.

Easy to donate

Patrons have the option to share their photos on social media platforms as well, with each additional post resulting in an additional meal donation. This process purposely requires minimal involvement from both customers and HopCat staff, seamlessly integrating the act of giving within the dining experience.

HopCat’s Detroit, Royal Oak, and Livonia locations are partnering with Forgotten Harvest, while its Ann Arbor location will be collaborating with Food Gatherers.

These respected food banks will help ensure that the donated meals reach those in each local community who need them most. HopCat is proud to support these organizations and help our guests give back to their local communities.

Passion for helping communities

“This partnership proves how passionate HopCat is about taking care of our community and leaving this world better than we found it,” says Ned Lidvall, CEO of Project BarFly, HopCat’s parent company. “GiftAMeal has made it easy for our guests to lend a hand, which means we’re not only helping folks who could use a meal, but we’re also giving our neighborhoods and communities a chance to get involved with us.

“We’re excited for a future between HopCat and GiftAMeal and the impact we can have in our communities.”
