The Detroit Youth Choir will be performing free this week at the Royal Oak Emagine Theater.

The Detroit Youth Choir, a group of talented boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 18, will be performing songs from the highly anticipated new movie, “The Color Purple”, along with some of their holiday classics, at Emagine Royal Oak on Sunday, Dec. 17.

This performance will take place at 1:30 p.m. in the lobby of the theater and is free and open to the public.

“The Color Purple” opens in theaters Dec. 25 and is a bold new take on the beloved classic that is directed by Blitz Bazawule, and produced by Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, Scott Sanders and Quincy Jones.

Star-studded cast

It stars Taraji P. Henson, Danielle Brooks, Colman Domingo, Corey Hawkins and Halle Bailey.  Tickets for the movie are available now at www.Emagine-Entertainment.com
