Here’s what’s coming to Canton’s former JoAnn Fabrics location

Nordstrom Rack will soon be moving into the space formerly occupied by JoAnn Fabrics on Ford Road in Canton.

Shoppers looking for great deals on high-quality clothing and home decor will be pleased to learned who the new tenant will be at the former Canton JoAnn Fabrics space located at 44740 Ford.

Nordstrom Rack, a retail department store that sells clothing and home goods, will be taking over the JoAnn Fabrics space soon, pending a few dotting of i’s and crossing of t’s.

The company is proposing facade changes, which include staining the brick on the front facade of the store, replacing EIFS (exterior insulation finishing system) around the entrance with brick, replacing the wall sign and re-painting some of the existing painted surfaces.

Changes need approval

The proposed changes needs a recommendation from the Canton Planning Commission, which will then forward the recommendation for approval or denial to the Canton Township Board of Trustees. The Planning Commission will hear from Nordstrom Rack representatives at the April 6 meeting.

According to the Nordstrom Rack website, the company has been “your destination for the very best deals, every day since 1973”

‘Great brands, great prices’

“We’re all about delivering great brands at great prices — up to 70% off great-looking clothes, shoes and accessories, plus awesome décor for your home,” the website explains. “Also awesome: 90% of the brands offered at Rack are the very same brands you’ll find at Nordstrom — with new trends, styles and staples delivered weekly.

“So, whether you’re shopping for yourself or your family, you can trust we’ve got you covered.”

Social House News will provide updates as to when the grand opening will take place.
