“Livonia’s thriving suburban community is the perfect fit for HopCat’s food- and bar-forward approach to dining,” said Project BarFly CEO Ned Lidvall. “The size and open layout of our
new location is not only ideal for showcasing our wide range of food and beverage offerings, but also for creating an exceptional, inviting atmosphere for our guests.

“We’re confident our new Livonia home will be a go-to destination for locals and visitors alike.”

The new HopCat in Livonia accommodates 287 guests, featuring two indoor dining areas with high-top and low-top tables, mafia booths, private event space and a game room for families to enjoy.

As sustainability remains a core tenet for the HopCat brand, a repurposed lazy Susan table from the Claddagh Irish Pub will seat up to 12 guests comfortably and offer guests a special dining experience.

The main bar, which has distinctive corner elbow features, has 40 available seats, making it the largest bar seating of all the brand’s locations.

State-of-the-art kitchen

The restaurant features a state-of-the-art kitchen and a separate entryway to conveniently accommodate off premise orders.

Two roll-up garage doors offer guests an open-air dining space while two patios – one with its own fire pit – will offer guests a total of 48 seats to enjoy a great outdoor dining experience during the warmer months.

Additionally, the music theme décor is on full display in the new space, with a signature wall adorned with classic vinyl record covers of famous musical artists.

“I’m honored to be back in my hometown of Livonia helping to launch our very own HopCat location,” said David Summers, HopCat Livonia general manager.

Summers has worked for HopCat for six years, most recently as the assistant general manager of HopCat’s Royal Oak location.

“We’ve put together a dynamic and passionate team of one hundred staff members who are ready to carry forward the mission of this incredible brand. We want this opening to be something special.”

Giving back to schools

As part of the grand opening celebration, HopCat named the Livonia Public Schools as its charity partner and will offer special invite-only dinner seatings to raise money and awareness for the school district’s STEM program, Project Lead the Way, which takes students through journeys in technology, problem-solving, engaged collaboration, and real-world career exploration.

HopCat will match up to $5,000 of all monies raised through alcohol sales and charitable donations on these special nights. The donations will directly support the purchase of
classroom materials and PLTW kits for all elementary classrooms.

“We are so thrilled to be named the Charity Partner for the grand opening of HopCat in our hometown,” said Stacy Jenkins, administrator of district communications
for Livonia Public Schools.

“We are grateful for this opportunity to not only raise funds, but also awareness of the brand-new STEM offerings that are coming this fall to each of our 15 elementary schools.”
