Downriver woman’s reaction to winning huge lottery prize is priceless

Denise Boden is pictured with her husband after accepting check from the Michigan Lottery.

A Wayne County woman almost fell out of her chair when she found out she won $25,000 a year for life playing Lucky For Life!

Denise Boden, of Riverview, won the big prize when her Lucky For Life ticket matched the five white balls drawn on Dec. 12: 06-20-23-30-36. She bought her winning ticket at George’s Liquor, located at 13826 Sibley Road in Riverview. Riverview is about 10 miles south of Dearborn.

“I just started playing Lucky For Life about six months ago,” said Boden. “I checked my ticket the morning after the drawing and saw I matched three numbers, then four, etc.

“When I saw I got all five white balls, I scanned my ticket on the app to see how much it was worth, and I about fell out of my chair when $390,000 came up on the screen!”

Boden, 70, visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim her prize. She chose to receive her winnings as a one-time lump sum payment of $390,000, rather than payments of $25,000 a year for 20 years or life, whichever is greater. With her winnings, she plans to take a trip with her husband.
