Dearborn nonprofit that assists veterans appoints new director
Foundation for Pops, a nonprofit organization dedicated to aiding individuals experiencing homelessness and veterans seeking a fresh start, today announced the appointment of Lakesha Hancock as its new executive director.
The announcement was made by DQS Solutions & Staffing CEO Josh Morris.

Commitment to advancing mission
Hancock joins Foundation for Pops with a commitment to advancing the organization’s mission. The nonprofit is based in Dearborn.
Her appointment marks a significant step in ensuring Foundation for Pops’ sustained impact in personal development, workforce readiness, and housing for those in need in metro Detroit.
In her role, Hancock will be responsible for overseeing the programs and the strategic plan of the organization. Hancock’s background with economic mobility and affordable housing initiatives will help propel Foundation for Pops further in its mission.
Hancock has held leadership positions in nonprofit organizations for nearly two decades, bringing a wealth of experience to Foundation for Pops.
Impressive credentials
Prior to working with Foundation for Pops, Hancock served as the Director of Housing Counseling with U Snap Bac.
The Detroit resident earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with finance concentration, and a Master of Business Administration with an accounting concentration from Siena Heights University.
She also earned a Doctorial Certificate in Business Administration with a Nonprofit Management and Leadership concentration, from Liberty University.
Hancock holds several industry certificates including the HUD Housing Counseling Certification. Lakesha is also a Navy veteran.
