COOL SUMMER EVENTS: Plymouth to host Roko’s art, entertainment series
Renowned Plymouth-based artist Tony Roko will host a series of dazzling summer events in downtown Plymouth — all of which will benefit his non-profit Art Foundation, which was established in 2017 to provide high-level arts training and arts entrepreneurial training to the most-underserved populations in metro Detroit.
The three-part Art in the Village series will kick off June 24, from 7-10 p.m., at 198 West Liberty Street in Plymouth, when attendees can enjoy music by Cabaret Boreale while enjoying light bites and sips and view pieces from Roko’s collection and some of the Art Foundation’s most popular pieces.
The series’ presenting sponsor is Community Financial Credit Union.
Among the event sponsors are Ruckus Taco Co., Crawford’s Kitchen and Tito’s Handmade Vodka.

The series will continue July 28 from 7-10 p.m. featuring musing by DJ Dave Lawson; and Aug. 26 from 7-10 p.m. with entertainment provided by Apropus.
Art Foundation has two primary curricula that are designed to encourage individuality, support creative growth, and reinforce self-worth: Introduction to Art Expression with Tony Roko; and Art Entrepreneurship Boot Camp.
How to purchase tickets
In addition to the direct training curricula, Art Foundation is working to build community art initiatives that are designed to help improve access to cultural capital at the community level, most notably through the current Plymouth ArtWalk project.
