Check out Northville Nite: an exciting new era in community fun
Residents enjoy a picnic at a local park.
Northville Parks & Recreation invites the entire region to enjoy Northville Nite, a traditional celebration that will launch a new era in community fun.
The party will get started Friday, Sept. 26 from 6-9 p.m. at Marv Gans Community Park.
It will feature live music from Social Bones, food trucks, inflatables, yard games for all ages, giveaways, family fun and the debut of NP&R’s new mobile archery range.
This celebration launches NP&R’s exciting new chapter as it ushers in a new era of recreation in Northville, the “community within a park.”
‘Golden Age’ of recreation
“We have entered the ‘Golden Age’ of recreation because we have great people, great partnerships, great parks and great programs in place,” said Northville Parks & Recreation Director Derek O. Smith.
“Northville Nite will showcase just how much we can accomplish when we connect and inspire one another. We expect Northville Nite to become a tradition that neighbors look forward to year after year.”
The evening includes a public unveiling of NP&R’s new brand, debuting a fresh logo, eye-catching bold colors and revitalized messaging.
It coincides with its commitment to growing its programming, forging new partnerships and welcoming hundreds of acres of park land to its system.
Securing a ‘Legacy’
They are the 350-acres at Legacy Park in Northville Township as well as River Park and Central Park in the City of Northville.
Northville Parks & Recreation, which serves both Northville Township and the City of Northville, has doubled down on injecting passion into every task.
This year’s energy is reflected in the numbers. Participation in registered programs rose 20% in 2024, with senior programming up 81%. Revenue climbed 7% from 2023 and 16% from 2022, and the growth continues into 2025.
In addition, several of NP&R’s contract instructors will be at Northville Nite providing demonstrations and sharing information on health and wellness, recreation and senior programs.
Variety of fun activities
One of NP&R’s new partners, Northville FC Recreational Soccer, is going to be in on the fun at Northville Nite. It’s challenging guests to wind up at the jumbo soccer dart board, one of many activities that inspire active living and social connections.
To participate in Northville Nite, advance tickets cost $4 per person or $16 per family (minimum of four people.)
Tickets at the door run $5 per person or $20 per family.
“Northville Nite is truly the can’t-miss party of the year,” Director Smith said. “It’s where neighbors, friends and families come together for live music, games, food and unforgettable fun.
“This night is about more than just a great party—it’s about launching a new era of recreation in Northville. We’re honoring our past, embracing our future and setting the stage for traditions our community will look forward to year after year.”
