Canton hosts Salem in charity event for Mott Children’s Hospital

Canton’s volleyball team is pictured during last week’s match against Plymouth.

The energy level will be extra high inside the Canton’s Phase III gymnasium Tuesday night as the Cobras’ volleyball team will host Salem in a match that will collect items for University of Michigan’s C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital patients.

The freshmen and junior varsity matches are scheduled for 5 p.m. with the varsity match set for 6:30 p.m.

Funds will be raised via a 50/50 drawing, raffle baskets and a bake sale.

Donations appreciated

The Canton volleyball program is also seeking book and crafts donations.

If you donate one of the following items (please only new items for health and safety reasons), you will receive raffle tickets to potentially win a gift card: toddler board books and books for all ages under 8; Crayola brand crayons, colored pencils and markers; Diamond Dot art; coloring books or grab-and-go packs; Uno cards and Lego sets; and 8 x 10 white blank canvases.

The Cobras are currently 2-2 overall while the Rocks enter the match with a 2-3 record, according to the KLAA website.
