Birmingham’s ‘Jeopardy!’ champ hosting local watch party tonight

Four-time Jeopardy! champion Drew Basile is a native of Birmingham and graduate of University of Detroit Jesuit High School.
Will 22-year-old Birmingham resident Drew Basile win for the fifth consecutive time on Jeopardy! tonight at 7:30 p.m. on NBC, earning a coveted berth in the show’s “Tournament of Champions”?
You can find out alongside Basile himself at a watch party scheduled for tonight from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Sidecar Slider Bar located at 117 Willits St. in Birmingham.
A graduate of U o D Jesuit High School and the University of Pennsylvania (he is now pursuing his Master’s in English Literature at Oxford University in England), the 6-foot-6 Basile won his fourth straight Jeopardy! episode Monday, bringing his four-day winnings to $75,682.
All Jeopardy! champions who win five matches in a row qualify for the show’s year-ending “Tournament of Champions”.
He’s a ‘Survivor’
Basile was a contestant on season 45 of “Survivor” last fall.
He has a background in English and philosophy, according to the Jeopardy! website.
He enjoys trivia (he won a national competition in 2019) and is also interested in playing scrabble and writing.
Basile is described as personable, authentic, and a potent speaker, traits he believes will help compensate for his weaker physical game in “Survivor.”
