Local business, Delta team up to assist breast-cancer patients
Wrapped in Love is taking its locally made products to new heights this October through a collaboration with Delta Air Lines.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Sterling Heights-based Wrapped in Love and Delta developed socks that will be available to Delta employees through the airline’s Pink Boutique.
The exclusive socks were made in Michigan and are a part of a pink merchandise collection employees can purchase and wear throughout October. Merchandise sales will benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).
Compelling collaboration
The collaboration brings together a Michigan-based company, Wrapped in Love, and Delta, which operates a major hub at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport.
“It’s an honor and privilege for a small business such as mine to have the opportunity to partner with a major company such as Delta, which has a major presence in Michigan,” said Karen MacDonald- Basile, Founder of Wrapped in Love.
“I created Wrapped in Love to provide a clothing and accessory line for women with cancer and other illnesses, so to be able to provide apparel that will help raise funds for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation is a full-circle moment for my business.”
Larger purpose
The socks have been developed specifically for Delta’s employees and will only be available through the Pink Boutique. They will not be available for public purchase.
Wrapped in Love will also participate as a sponsor of Delta’s annual Breast Cancer One Charter, a 15-year tradition that brings together Delta employees whose lives have been impacted by breast cancer for a one-of-a-kind experience focused on connection, education, and celebration.
As part of its participation, Wrapped in Love will attend and provide each participant with Wrapped in Love merchandise.
For Wrapped in Love, the collaboration represents an opportunity for a Michigan small business to bring a locally made product to a global brand while contributing to an initiative with a larger purpose.
