$2 million Powerball prize won in southeast Michigan

For the second time this week, a lucky Michigander is a millionaire thanks to the Powerball game!
“A lucky player who bought a Powerball ticket in Detroit is waking up to a big $2 million win! Congratulations to Michigan’s newest millionaire,” said Lottery Commissioner Suzanna Shkreli. “The jackpot is still growing, and so is the excitement for Saturday night’s drawing!”
The lucky player matched the five white balls – 03-16-29-61-69 – in last night’s Powerball drawing to win a $1 million prize.
Power Play doubles prize
Thanks to the Power Play, the prize was multiplied to $2 million. The winning ticket was bought at the Sunkiss Market, located at 13535 Puritan Street in Detroit.

This is the second time this week a Michigan player has won big playing Powerball. On Monday night, a lucky player won $1 million with a ticket bought at the CVS Pharmacy, located at 18585 East Warren Avenue in Grosse Pointe.
The Powerball jackpot stands at $1.70 billion for the next drawing on Saturday night.
Saturday’s jackpot 3rd-largest in history
The jackpot has an estimated cash value of $770.3 million. Saturday’s Powerball jackpot ranks as the third-largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history, only behind the world-record $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot won on Nov. 7, 2022, and the $1.765 billion Powerball jackpot won on Oct. 11, 2023.
Saturday’s drawing will be the 42nd since the Powerball jackpot was last won on May 31, 2025, in California.
The current streak is the game record for the most consecutive drawings without a jackpot winner. Previously, the record stood at 41 drawings, which occurred last on April 6, 2024, with a $1.326 billion jackpot won in Oregon.
How to play
Powerball plays may be purchased for $2 each at Lottery retailers across the state and online at MichiganLottery.com. A “Power Play” option that multiplies non-jackpot prizes by up to 10 times to a maximum of $2 million may be added to any Powerball play for only $1.
For an additional $1 per play, Double Play may be added to a Powerball ticket, giving players a second chance to win up to $10 million in the nightly Double Play drawing.
The Powerball drawing takes place at 10:59 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday and may be watched live online by clicking here. Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states, Washington D.C., U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.
